Blame Dürer

€3,550.00Price

Blame Dürer brings together architectural fragments inspired by my visit to Albrecht Dürer’s house in Nuremberg with images and forms from different times and contexts. Elements of the historic interior are taken out of their original setting and transformed into an unstable, imagined space.

The painting connects Dürer’s explorations of perspective, representation and visual illusion with a contemporary fascination for how images shape the way we perceive reality. From painting and trompe-l’œil to television, digital imagery and AI, the means through which we construct and experience images continue to change.

Through shifts in perspective, scale and spatial logic, Blame Dürer plays with dimensions and distortions, while remaining deliberately physical: paint, surface and the act of looking itself become part of the experience.
